The Challenge
I was approached by Rob Leech, Founder & Chief Talent Officer at Umogo in order that I might assist with his Self-Assessment Tax return. Whilst Rob was using already using an accountant, he wanted to move away, as he desired a more hands-on and personal service.
The Solution
We started with an informal meeting over a coffee to discuss Rob’s bookkeeping requirements and personal circumstances, including whether there was any property rental income, shares or bank interest involved. After an initial assessment and quotation, we agreed I would take on the work.
I then assessed my client’s accounts in-depth, and on review, pointed-out a few things that had not be accounted for and could be added to reduce the tax liability. Once reviewed further by the Certified Accountant I work along-side, I then processed and timely submitted the tax return on Rob’s behalf.
The Results
As is often the case, I was very pleased that the combination of my 33 years experience in bookkeeping and affordable fees, once again proved able to save my client overpaying on his tax return.
As an experienced and passionate bookkeeper, I revel in even the most tedious financial tasks, therefore it makes sense to hand over these areas to someone who does them, and does them well, because of that motivation.
